U.S., Europe closed 328 websites selling counterfeit goods

In the latest campaign against fraudulent activities online trading, U.S. and European officials have seized domain names of 328 websites accused of selling counterfeit goods.








In a statement, released on 26/6, the U.S. authorities have seized 177 domain names of websites accused of selling counterfeit of the famous American producer, such as Rosetta Stone, NFL, ball Dre Beats, Tiffany & Co. ...

U.S. officials said the command seized the domain name of the site above the court came after the company said affected products that these websites are selling fake or illegal.

Meanwhile, 151 other sites were also European Police (Europol) in a campaign to close cooperation with the authorities of Belgium, France, Romania and the UK.

"Preventing the trafficking of counterfeit goods on the internet is a very important job because it undermines legitimate businesses and often adversely affect the health and safety of consumers", Rob Wainwright, director of Europol, in a statement from Washington.

"Campaign transatlantic success will send an important message to the criminals, they prove that they can not hide criminal activities through the Internet," Mr. Wainwright said.

Campaign officials involved said they seized $ 150,000 from the PayPal account activities related to illegal trafficking.

The shut down websites trafficking in counterfeit goods above the total number of sites has seized the domain name in the United States due to illegal business in the U.S. from 2010 to present up to 2,252 web pages.
